AFCON 2017 Qualifiers: Togo still top after win over Djibouti

Togo continued their winning form in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 2-0 win over Djibouti on Friday.

The visitors took the lead after only three minutes as their captain Serge Akakpo netted the opener.

Two minutes before the interval Jonathan Ayite, who plays his football in Turkey, secured the win with their second goal.

Togo lead Group A with six points and enjoy a three-point lead over Tunisia, while Djibouti and Liberia are yet to get off the mark.

Togo are managed by former Free State Stars coach Tom Santfiet, who has recently been joined by Chippa United fitness trainer Riedoh Berdien as part of his backroom staff.
